(Scypre.com) – In Ohio, an individual was found perched approximately “20 feet off the ground” inside a vehicle he purportedly attempted to steal from a wrecking yard. Akron police, as captured by bodycam footage, portrayed the SUV suspended in mid-air until it was carefully lowered for the apprehension of the suspect.
One of the officers queried, “What’s your name, man?” to which the handcuffed suspect retorted, “None of your business, bro.” Upon notifying the suspect of his arrest, he inquired about the charges and claimed he was fleeing from someone.
The officer who recorded the incident then engaged with employees from the identified business, Arlington Auto Wrecking, as the individual operating the loader to secure the suspect informed that the car was unstable and at risk of tipping off the forklift.
The 911 call, obtained by WOIO, revealed the precarious situation: “So, he’s still in the car about 20 feet in the air in the loader.” The business employee’s description prompted a lighthearted response from the 911 operator, expressing amusement and ensuring assistance.
According to employees, this marked the third incident involving the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Alexander Funk, with the first successful apprehension. The footage from the Akron Police Department, dated Oct. 17, captured officers at the jail discussing the events.
The officer recounted, “He broke into a car at the junkyard, and before he could get out, they got, like, a forklift. They had him, I’m not kidding, like 20 feet off the ground, so when we got there, he went right into custody.” Alexander Funk faced charges of criminal trespassing and possessing criminal tools.
