17 Year Old Murders 3 Young Girls In UK

(Scypre.com) – A 17-year-old male already in custody has been formally charged with the murder of three young girls during a brutal knife attack in Southport, UK, police announced on Wednesday. This violent incident has sparked demonstrations in London, with some protesters blaming immigrants for the tragedy.

The suspect, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions, will remain in custody and is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Thursday. The charges stem from a savage attack that occurred on Monday at a “Taylor Swift yoga and dance workshop,” a summer event for children aged 6 to 11. The victims, aged 6 to 9, were among those attending the event in the seaside town. The suspect was initially detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

On Tuesday, Southport experienced unrest fueled by false information circulating on social media, which incorrectly claimed the attacker was a radical Islamist migrant. This misinformation led to demonstrations in London on Wednesday, where thousands gathered near the prime minister’s Downing Street residence, chanting slogans like “Save our kids,” “We want our country back,” and “Stop the boats.” Despite police clarifications that the attack was not terror-related and that the suspect was British-born, speculation about his origins persisted.

Protesters in London clashed with police, throwing flares and smoke canisters towards Downing Street. The police, wearing helmets, formed a barrier around the demonstrators. Over 100 individuals were arrested for various offenses, including violent disorder, assaulting an emergency worker, and breaching protest conditions.

The disturbances continued in Southport, where violent clashes on Tuesday night left more than 50 officers injured. Protesters set police vans on fire and hurled bricks, bottles, and fireworks at officers and vehicles parked near the town’s mosque. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy of Merseyside Police reassured the public, stating, “Just to reassure the communities of Southport, who I am sure are really worried about ‘are we going to see this again tonight?’ – we are absolutely planning for this evening and for the weekend ahead.”

In addition to the three girls who were killed, eight other children were stabbed in Monday’s attack. Five of these children remain in critical condition in the hospital, along with two adults who tried to protect them. Despite police statements confirming the suspect’s British birth, protesters targeted the Southport mosque and attacked police.

Local authorities noted that many of the violent protesters were not from the area, detracting from a large vigil that thousands attended to honor the young victims. A total of 53 officers were injured, with eight requiring hospital treatment for serious injuries such as fractures and head wounds. Three police dogs were also hurt in the clashes.

Chief Constable Kennedy expressed her disgust at the violence, stating that four men, aged 31 to 39, had been arrested, and efforts were underway to identify others involved. “They were there purely for hooliganism and thuggery,” she said, condemning the behavior that marred Southport’s streets.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer denounced the “violent thugs,” promising they would “feel the full force of the law.” The aftermath of the violence left Southport streets littered with debris, including bricks, smashed bottles, and burnt garbage bins.

Local resident David Burgess described the scene to Sky News: “What I saw last night was absolutely appalling. … It was devastating and it’s kind of taken away from actually what’s gone on, which is the tragedy of those deaths.”

In response to the tragedy, Taylor Swift fans have raised over £270,000 ($346,000) to support the victims’ families and the hospital treating the injured children.
