(Scypre.com) – A heartbreaking and unexpected tragedy unfolded on the final day of a family vacation in Maine, as a 6-year-old girl from New Jersey, Lucy Morgan, lost her life due to a freak accident involving a badminton racket.
Lucy’s family, including her parents, Jesse and Bethany Morgan, and her three siblings, were enjoying their time together at a picturesque lake cottage when the unthinkable occurred.According to Jesse Morgan, a pastor at Green Pond Bible Chapel in Rockaway, New Jersey, the family had been having a wonderful time by the lake, enjoying a quick lunch before the children decided to play badminton in the front yard.
As Lucy sat on the sidelines, her 10-year-old brother swung the badminton racket, which unexpectedly broke apart. The shaft of the racket flew into Lucy’s skull, causing catastrophic injury.Rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Portland, Maine, Lucy’s family clung to hope and cried out to God for a miracle.
As doctors evaluated and reevaluated Lucy’s condition, her three siblings showed their compassion and love by gently holding their sister’s hand, kissing her, and creating artwork in her honor.Jesse and Bethany Morgan shared the devastating news with their other children, who, despite their young ages, showed immense understanding and support. Sadly, Lucy succumbed to her injuries four days after the accident. “After significant thorough testing and even more repeated tests to be certain, brain death was declared at 1:32 a.m. on June 5, and her heart stopped beating around 4 a.m.,” Jesse wrote on his blog, New Creation Living.Despite the immense grief and pain, Lucy’s parents found solace in the knowledge that their daughter had a strong belief in Jesus’ death and resurrection. Just four weeks before the accident, Lucy had asked her mother how to be with God and be saved.
Bethany explained the concept to Lucy, who then went to her room to pray to God for forgiveness and to express her belief in Jesus.The parents were further comforted when they discovered Lucy’s “prayer journal,” which contained beautiful drawings of Bible stories and hearts. “How a six-year-old journals like this is beyond me,” Jesse wrote. “It’s almost as if God was writing with her, drawing her to Himself.”In conclusion,
