(Scypre.com) – A dramatic video has captured a harrowing incident where a car careened into a beauty salon in Arizona, narrowly avoiding a customer who was inside the establishment at the time.
This shocking event unfolded on a Saturday afternoon at the Belle Vie Salon Studios, located in Chandler just outside of Phoenix. Surveillance footage, which was acquired by TMX News, reveals a Lexus sedan mounting the curb right in front of the salon and then crashing through its entrance.
In one perspective, a man can be seen seated on a couch, engrossed in what appears to be his phone. Suddenly, he glances up in astonishment as the car smashes through the salon’s glass doors, scattering debris all around. In the immediate aftermath of the collision, the man rises and begins to dust off his arms, while surveying the car that came to a halt just a few feet from where he had been sitting.
Another angle, captured by a hallway camera, shows individuals inside the salon studios peering out from various rooms in the aftermath of the crash.
Ashley Upton, who was identified by AZ Family as one of the tenants working at the Belle Vie Salon Studios, expressed her gratitude, saying, “I honestly think I had an angel on my side today because if it was another foot to the left, I could’ve been severely hurt. Other people could’ve been severely hurt. I’m just so thankful that everything happened the way it did and no one is severely injured.” Upton, according to the station, was in the middle of cutting a client’s hair when the impact caused objects attached to one of her studio’s walls to come crashing down.
According to AZ Family, the Chandler Police Department reported that the driver of the vehicle, an elderly woman, sustained a minor leg injury during the crash. Investigators explained to the station that she lost control of the vehicle while maneuvering in the parking lot. As of Tuesday, no charges had been filed.
Before plowing into the salon, the driver had also been involved in a hit-and-run incident in the parking lot, as reported by AZ Family. Surveillance footage indicates that the car was already damaged before it entered the salon.
Mario Cardona, identified by AZ Family as the owner of a black car that was struck by the Lexus, reflected on the incident, saying, “You can’t get worried about it. You can’t get bent out of shape. You just got to roll with it. There’s nothing I could’ve done to change it. I was just pulling out of the parking lot. She hit me.” Cardona also described the salon crash as “very bad” and “very loud,” adding that approximately six people rushed out immediately after the collision.
