(Scypre.com) – A man named John Turscak, who was once an FBI informant, is in trouble for trying to hurt another person in prison.
Last week, a former police officer named Derek Chauvin was stabbed many times in a library at a prison in Arizona. The attacker, Turscak, is now facing charges for attempting to murder Chauvin.
Turscak also hurt Chauvin in other ways, and he used a homemade knife during the attack. This happened on Black Friday, a day he said he chose to symbolize the “Black Lives Matter” movement. That movement became known because people protested after a man named George Floyd died, and Chauvin was involved in the incident.
When the prison guards stopped Turscak by using pepper spray, he said he would have killed Chauvin if they hadn’t acted so quickly. Later, when talking to the FBI, Turscak said he planned the attack for a month and did it because Chauvin is a famous inmate.
Turscak was once a helper for the FBI but got in trouble in 1997 for doing bad things like dealing drugs and hurting people. Now, he could be in prison for 60 more years because of the new charges. He was supposed to be released in 2026.
Chauvin, the person who got attacked, is already in prison for more than 20 years because he was part of the situation where George Floyd died. Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for a long time, and it caused a lot of problems and protests. Recently, Chauvin tried to say he wasn’t responsible for Floyd’s death, but the Supreme Court said no to his request for a new trial. Now, he got stabbed in prison, and the prison staff helped him and took him to a hospital.
It’s not allowed for the prison to share updates about Chauvin’s health, but they said they handled the situation and saved his life.
