Haunted House Comes Alive

(Scypre.com) – A resident of a 1920s home in New Mexico, rumored to be haunted, shared that both her cat and son perceive a presence they associate with a haunting.

Rene Valdez recounted her son’s experiences, mentioning, “He mentioned seeing a man in his room, wearing an old hat, peeking in from the bathroom,” during an interview with Inside Edition.

According to Valdez, she communicated with the previous owner through Facebook, who cryptically remarked, “Oh, I’ve been expecting you.”

Valdez elaborated on various eerie occurrences, such as strange noises and unexplained phenomena that she and her girlfriend hear regularly.

She mentioned instances like an unconnected doorbell ringing loudly at night, chairs seemingly moving on their own as caught on a basement camera, and an Alexa device notifying them of calls originating from within the house.

However, what truly unsettles Valdez are the reactions of her pets.

“The pets react the most,” Valdez stated, singling out her gray cat named “Ruth.” “Ruth consistently reacts to something in the bedroom. It’s a constant interruption for her. Something seems to follow her around,” she shared with Inside Edition. “She always seems to perceive it, and that really frightens me.”

Valdez expressed her discomfort with Ruth’s reactions, particularly how her ears pin back, indicating a clear response to an unseen presence.

She, her girlfriend, her son, and their pets still reside in the house, planning to coexist with their enigmatic companion.

“I feel like I’m sharing its space more than it’s encroaching on ours, in a way,” Valdez reflected. “Whatever it is, it was here before us.”

“They’re not causing any harm, so I’m choosing to let it be. In a strange way, I’ve grown fond of it,” she added. “In its own way, it adds to the peculiar charm of this haunting 1920s house that I purchased.”
