
(Scypre.com) – It was supposed to be one of the best days of Miller’s life. The bride died when she was hit by a drunken driver as she left her wedding reception.
Aric Hutchinson and two others were riding in a golf cart-style vehicle with Miller when the driver hit them, causing the cart to roll several times, according to a post written by Hutchinson’s mother.
The public safety director for Folly Beach said that Miller’s husband and three other passengers were injured.
The golf cart-style vehicle, decorated with cans and a “just married” sign, was mangled and on its side. He said that first responders tried to revive Miller, but she died at the scene.
The cart was thrown more than 100 yards in the crash. She said that her son had several broken bones and a brain injury. Aric lost the love of his life after Sam placed his wedding ring on his finger.
As of Monday, the campaign had received $183,000.
Miller died of blunt force injuries, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Online court records show that Jamie Lee Komoroski was charged with one count of reckless homicide and three counts of felony drunk driving. Her vehicle was going 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.
The speed limit on highways in South Carolina is 35 mph or less. The vehicle of the newlywed couple was on the road.
