Pete Davidson has been ordered to fulfill 50 hours of community service as a consequence of crashing his car into a Beverly Hills home in March. The incident led to authorities charging him with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving on June 16.
The District Attorney’s office conveyed their belief that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, resulting in the serious collision with the home. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported due to the accident.
Pete Davidson pleaded not guilty on July 19 and was granted judicial diversion. The 18-month diversion program includes 50 hours of community service and 12 hours of traffic school, both of which he can complete in New York.
Davidson’s counsel stated that he is likely to perform his community service with the New York Fire Department, where his late father served before tragically losing his life in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The New York Fire Department expressed their willingness to provide Mr. Davidson with an opportunity to fulfill his required community service.
Regarding the car crash, it occurred around 11 p.m. on March 4, near the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Elevado Avenue. Davidson was traveling with a female passenger at the time, speculated to be his rumored girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders.
Preliminary investigators believed that speed may have been a factor in the crash. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and no arrests were made.
The authorities confirmed that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the car crash. The District Attorney’s office emphasized the seriousness of reckless driving and its potential devastating consequences, especially in light of the alarming increase in traffic fatalities in Los Angeles in recent times.
