Politician’s Daughter, Son in Law Killed In Haiti

(Scypre.com) – Three Americans, including the daughter and son-in-law of a Republican politician, were tragically killed by gangs in Haiti.

Davy and Natalie Lloyd, a missionary couple, were shot and killed in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. They were ambushed as they left a youth group event at a local church. This sad news was confirmed by a police official.

Missouri state representative Ben Baker, who is Natalie Lloyd’s father, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook. He wrote, “My heart is broken in a thousand pieces. I’ve never felt this kind of pain.”

A third person, whose identity is still unknown, was also killed in the attack on Thursday evening in the Lizon community in northern Port-au-Prince. Lionel Lazarre, the head of a Haitian police union, told The Associated Press about the incident.

Mr. Baker shared more about his daughter and son-in-law, saying, “Most of you know my daughter and son-in-law Davy and Natalie Lloyd are full-time missionaries in Haiti. They were attacked by gangs this evening and were both killed. They went to Heaven together. Please pray for my family; we desperately need strength. And please pray for the Lloyd family as well. I have no other words for now.”

Davy and Natalie Lloyd worked for Missions in Haiti Inc, an organization based in Oklahoma and founded by Davy’s parents. The couple had married on June 18, 2022, and Natalie had started working with the missionary organization in August of that year. Natalie often shared photos of Haitian children on her Facebook page, showing her love and dedication to the community.

Former President Donald Trump expressed his condolences on Truth Social, writing, “God bless Davy and Natalie. Such a tragedy. Haiti is totally out of control. Find the killers NOW!!!”

This tragic event happened amidst ongoing gang violence in Port-au-Prince, which is now mostly controlled by gangs. Authorities in Haiti are awaiting the arrival of a police force from Kenya. This force is part of a UN-backed effort to help stop the violence and bring peace to the troubled Caribbean nation.
