(Scypre.com) – According to a police report, the son of NFL legend Ray Lewis has passed away at the age of 28, with a suspected drug overdose.
The incident took place at a residence in Central Florida, prompting a call to the police. Upon arrival, officers discovered Ray Anthony Lewis III unresponsive, as confirmed by the Casselberry Police Department.
An officer administered the opioid overdose antidote naloxone, but unfortunately, the efforts to revive Lewis were unsuccessful. He was subsequently transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police report mentioned the discovery of a blue pill near Lewis’ body, along with needles and a plastic bag found inside an empty beer can. However, it remains unclear whether Lewis III was using drugs. The authorities and witness accounts indicate that the incident appears to be a tragic accident, as stated in the police statement.
Ray Lewis, who achieved Super Bowl victories with the Baltimore Ravens, has not made any public comments regarding his son’s passing.
Meanwhile, Lewis’ younger brother, Rashaan Lewis, expressed his grief on social media, describing his older brother as a “true angel.”
Diaymon Lewis, Lewis III’s sister, also paid tribute to him, emphasizing the strong bond they shared.
Ray Anthony Lewis III played football as a running back in high school and later transitioned to cornerback when he joined the college football ranks.
