(Scypre.com) – Target has issued a recall of approximately 5 million glass candles due to safety concerns, as stated in an official notice released by safety regulators.
The recall applies to 4.9 million Threshold Glass Jar Candles available across the country. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), these jars have the potential to crack or break while in use, posing risks of lacerations and burns.
The decision to initiate the recall came after Target received 137 reports of jar breakage or cracking, resulting in six injuries including burns and lacerations.
The affected candles were exclusively sold at Target stores nationwide and through their online platform from August 2019 to March 2023.
The Threshold Glass Jar candles subject to the recall are offered in various sizes and scents. Customers can identify the recalled items by checking the item numbers printed on the bottom of the glass jars, as specified in the notice.
Target advises customers who purchased the recalled candles to return them in order to receive a full refund.
