Tito Jackson, Brother To Michael Jackson, Dead At 70

(Scypre.com) – Tito Jackson, a founding member of the legendary Jackson 5, has passed away at the age of 70, as confirmed by his family on Monday. His sons, TJ, Taj, and Taryll, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, stating, “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken.” They further expressed how much their father will be missed, writing, “It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us.”

Tito Jackson was part of the iconic Jackson 5, a group that rose to fame in the late 1960s and 1970s alongside his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael. Their breakthrough came with a series of hits after signing with Motown Records, including chart-toppers like “ABC” and “I Want You Back.”

The group’s success launched them into the spotlight, and in 1997, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jackson was also nominated for three Grammys during his musical career.

Raised in Gary, Indiana, the Jackson family was managed by their strict father, Joe Jackson. Despite achieving massive success as a group, much of the spotlight eventually shifted to Michael Jackson, whose solo career transformed him into one of the most famous musical icons of the 20th century. Michael passed away in 2009 at the age of 50.

Although Tito Jackson was not allowed to play guitar on Jackson 5 records—studio musicians were preferred—he didn’t let that stop him from pursuing his musical passion. In 2003, he launched a successful solo career as a blues artist, carving out his own legacy in the industry.
