(Scypre.com) – Angus Cloud’s passing was an unfortunate accident, marked by acute intoxication from a mix of substances including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines, as stated by the Alameda County Coroner’s office.
Known also by the name Conor Hickey, Angus Cloud passed away on July 31 at the age of 25. In a statement to Fox News Digital, his family shared their profound sorrow: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
The family went on to share Angus’ recent struggle, noting, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
Angus Cloud gained fame through his breakout role as Fezco in the HBO series “Euphoria,” portraying a high school dropout and drug dealer. He vividly described the unexpected nature of being chosen for this role, dispelling assumptions: “I was with some friends… It does bother me when people are like, ‘It must be so easy. You get to go in and be yourself.’ I’m like, ‘Why don’t you go and do that?’ It’s not that simple. I brought a lot to the character.”
Jennifer Venditti, the casting director of “Euphoria,” emphasized that Angus Cloud deserved more recognition for the effort he put into his character. She said, “People think, ‘Oh, he just shows up. He’s just this lazy stoner.’ Angus doesn’t get enough credit.”
After Angus Cloud’s untimely passing, his co-stars from “Euphoria” paid heartfelt tributes. Zendaya, the show’s lead actress, shared a touching message: “Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor)… I’d like to remember him that way, for all of the boundless light, love, and joy he always managed to give us.”
