(Scypre.com) – A homeowner in Los Angeles, Vince Ricci, recently faced a scary situation when armed men tried to break into his home. Despite successfully defending his family with his firearm, his concealed carry permit was revoked just days later.
In a video shared with Fox News Digital, Ricci expressed his frustration, saying, “After successfully defending my home and my family and my 5-month-old child, California has now decided to suspend my Second Amendment [rights].” He explained that the revocation came after an incident where he claims to have expressed dissatisfaction with the police’s handling of the case when they visited his home.
The incident occurred on November 4 when Ricci returned home after going to the gym. Two armed men attempted to force their way into his home, where his wife, infant daughter, and the family’s nanny were present. Using his firearm, Ricci confronted the intruders. However, the aftermath of the incident led to the suspension of his concealed carry permit.
In an interview, Ricci emphasized the self-defense aspect, stating, “My situation is unique because it happened at my front door, all on camera. But this happens time and time again all over the country … People sweep it under the rug because it doesn’t behoove their political agenda. The fact is, evil will always exist.”
This wasn’t the first time Ricci had been targeted by criminals. He detailed a break-in at his home in June and a car break-in a few months prior. He claimed that criminals had been targeting homes in his neighborhood, emphasizing the need for personal protection.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) expressed support for Ricci, condemning the revocation of his concealed carry permit. NRA spokesperson Billy McLaughlin stated, “It’s reprehensible that California is shredding his Second Amendment rights after he defended his family.” McLaughlin also criticized the state’s policies, claiming they have turned Los Angeles into a “war zone.”
Ricci echoed this sentiment, comparing Los Angeles to a “war zone” and blaming left-wing leaders for failing to enforce the law against violent criminals. In an interview, he highlighted a case where a father was killed due to the release of a violent criminal.
Russell Stuart, owner of Beverly Hills Guns, supported Ricci’s actions, emphasizing the right to self-defense on private property. Stuart argued that criminals in 2023 are heavily armed and willing to use weapons against law-abiding citizens.
Stuart noted an increase in people applying for concealed carry permits, pointing to concerns about safety in the face of rising crime. He questioned the message sent by revoking Ricci’s permit, especially to communities, such as the Jewish community, seeking protection against antisemitism.
