Tiger Woods $30 Million Girlfriend Scandal Settled

(Scypre.com) – Erica Herman, the former girlfriend of Tiger Woods, has decided to drop her $30 million lawsuit against him, alleging a violation of an oral tenancy agreement after their separation.

According to documents obtained by the New York Post on July 18, Herman, aged 39, dismissed the case while awaiting the outcome of her appeal in another lawsuit. This other lawsuit aimed to nullify a 2017 nondisclosure agreement she signed with Woods, who is 47 years old. The outcome of this second case is still pending.

The initial lawsuit, filed in October 2022, accused Woods’ trust, which owns his home, of breaching an oral agreement that allowed Herman to reside in the residence for a specific duration in exchange for valuable services. Court documents revealed that Herman claimed she was unfairly locked out of the home with five years remaining on their alleged agreement, and she sought $30 million as the reasonable rental value for those remaining years.

Woods’ trust responded by filing documents in November 2022 to dismiss Herman’s complaint, citing the requirement of resolving disputes through confidential arbitration as per the NDA she signed with Woods. They also denied the existence of the oral tenancy agreement.

While a hearing for the oral tenancy lawsuit was originally set for August, a recent court filing on June 29 stated that the hearing was canceled due to Herman’s dismissal of the suit.

Herman also filed a separate appeal after her case to lift the NDA was dismissed. In May, a Florida judge deemed her sexual misconduct claims as “vague and threadbare,” leading to the rejection of her appeal.

Herman’s attorneys previously claimed that Woods sexually harassed her in 2014 and coerced her into signing the NDA under the threat of losing her job. They also alleged that he harassed her again in 2022, tying her housing availability to a sexual relationship with him, which they asserted was a form of sexual harassment under federal and Florida fair housing laws.

In response, Woods characterized Herman as a jilted ex-girlfriend seeking public litigation of baseless claims instead of adhering to the confidentiality clause in the NDA. He criticized her use of the Speak Out Act, meant to protect victims of sexual harassment and assault, as an abuse of the judicial process.

The relationship between Woods and Herman ended in 2022 after five years together. According to sources, their split was due to conflicts over time and money, with Herman reportedly feeling that Woods was rarely at home, while he believed she was living an overly extravagant lifestyle.

Woods had previously faced a high-profile scandal in 2009 when he admitted to infidelity during his marriage to Elin Nordegren. The couple divorced in 2010, and Woods sought treatment for sex addiction following the revelations.
