(Scypre.com) – The New York Jets’ quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, recently made a comment about Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce, and his involvement with Pfizer in promoting the COVID-19 vaccine. Kelce responded to this during a press conference prior to their game against the Minnesota Vikings.
When reporters asked Kelce about Rodgers’ indirect reference to him as “Mr. Pfizer,” he took it in good humor, saying, “I thought it was pretty good.” Kelce jokingly acknowledged his resemblance to “Mr. Pfizer” due to his current mustache and unexpected involvement in what he referred to as “vax wars” with Aaron Rodgers, humorously alluding to Jets owner Woody Johnson’s association with Johnson & Johnson.
Rodgers had made his initial comment on “The Pat McAfee Show” after the Jets’ loss to the Chiefs, where he mentioned their defensive efforts against Kelce. He referred to Kelce as “Mr. Pfizer” and commented on the perceived impact of Kelce’s performance in the game.
Kelce, who has been part of Pfizer’s campaigns for both COVID-19 and flu vaccines, reiterated his belief in the vaccine during the interview. He emphasized that he got vaccinated to protect himself, his family, and the people around him, expressing full confidence in the decision.
On the other hand, Rodgers has been vocal about his opposition to the vaccine, a stance he has maintained since the onset of the pandemic. In 2021, he faced speculations about a foot injury being related to COVID-19, which he debunked by showing his bare foot during a press conference.
