(Scypre.com) – A potential unidentified flying object (UFO) with flashing lights was recorded flying over a U.S. Marine base in California in 2021, puzzling witnesses. However, the government insists it was merely a training exercise.
Jeremy Corbell, the only civilian mentioned during Congress’ significant hearing in May 2022 on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), obtained footage and pictures of the supposed UFO.
Corbell, an investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker, stated that witnesses at Camp Wilson in Twentynine Palms, California, described it as a “large, silent, and hovering triangular-shaped craft.”
Sue Gough, a spokesperson for the Department of Defense, informed the press that a training course was taking place at that time, and the Pentagon’s UAP-tracking office has no record of this incident.
Gough stated via email, “I can confirm that military aviation assets were present in the Twentynine Palms, California, airspace, and a Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course was underway.”
“There is no record of communication with the base range control regarding a UAP sighting, nor of any allocation of base resources to investigate a UAP sighting. AARO does not possess any record of this alleged event and cannot verify the report’s authenticity.”
The sighting occurred at Camp Wilson, a 998-square-mile installation located in the Mojave Desert’s southern tip in San Bernardino County, making it the largest Marine Corps base globally. Most of the base is dedicated to training.
AARO, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, is a department within the Department of Defense responsible for examining and identifying unidentified flying objects and other unexplained aerial, maritime, or space phenomena.
Videos released by Corbell and his “WeaponizedPodcast.com” co-host, reporter George Knapp, featured voices asking about the nature of the object. Another voice is heard exclaiming, “We got aliens.” During their podcast episode on May 23, the duo analyzed photos and videos of the incident and played interviews with unidentified witnesses who claimed to be Marines.
Knapp expressed his frustration with the lack of media coverage over the past two years since the incident, stating, “Two years ago, this thing happened, and nothing has come out. There’s been no media coverage in two years since.”
Despite AARO’s lack of records regarding this incident, Gough’s statement highlights what Corbell and lawmakers have identified as a significant oversight in reporting potential UFO sightings.
Following the UFO hearing before the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities on April 19, Senators Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) penned a letter to the Department of Defense. One of their points addressed the absence of a secure method for UFO witnesses to come forward and share their accounts.
“We have not seen any efforts to inform the public about the existence of a secure process to report these incidents,” stated the senators in their letter. “We request an update on the plan to publicize this secure process for witnesses to come forward.”
Rubio acknowledged the public’s concern about objects in American airspace and near military facilities, stating, “Our government spent too many years ignoring or downplaying the threat.” He referred to the Biden administration’s February interception of a Chinese spy balloon and three other UAPs.
Currently, Corbell and Knapp serve as spokespersons for the witnesses as they investigate tips, photos, and videos. They consider this particular case an ongoing UFO investigation and are seeking additional footage and witness testimonies through crowdsourcing.
Corbell urged other service members present at the Twentynine Palms/Camp Wilson installation during the reported event to come forward with additional footage, images, or information, stating, “The truth is out there, but without a proper and defined flow of information by the Department of Defense, we will not be able to make progress on understanding the UFO presence on planet Earth and what it means for humanity.”
